1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis upon which dietetic services are provided by Maria Lucey RD. By booking a consultation, you agree to be bound by these terms.
These terms apply to the exclusion of all other terms except where consumer rights cannot lawfully be excluded.
Maria Lucey RD reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes become effective upon publication on the website.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
- Dietitian โ Maria Lucey, Registered Dietitian (CORU registration number DI019908), and any contracted dietitians providing services under Maria Lucey RD.
- Service โ Clinical dietetic consultations delivered online (telehealth) or in person.
- Charges โ The fees payable for the Service, as advised prior to booking.
- You โ The individual booking and receiving the Service.
3. Eligibility & Jurisdiction
Services are available to:
- Individuals aged 18 years and over
- Individuals under 18 with parental or guardian consent
Services are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Due to professional indemnity insurance restrictions, services are not available to clients residing in the United States, Canada, Belarus, Ukraine, or Russia.
All services are deemed to be provided in Ireland, regardless of the clientโs location.
Any legal proceedings must be brought through the courts of Ireland.
4. Professional Standards
As of the date of your booking, Maria Lucey:
- Is a Registered Dietitian with CORU (DI019908)
- Is a Member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI, membership number 1449)
- Maintains professional indemnity insurance
The Dietitian agrees to provide services with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
Any contracted dietitians providing services will hold appropriate professional registrations and insurance.
5. Bookings & Payment
- Appointments must be booked in advance via the website or direct contact.
- Payment details will be provided at the time of booking.
- Full payment may be required in advance to confirm an appointment.
- The Dietitian reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking where appropriate.
6. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
- A minimum of 48 hoursโ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment will be charged in full.
- Missed appointments will be charged in full.
- For coaching packages, late cancellations may result in the deduction of one consultation from your package.
- Late arrivals will be charged for the full appointment time. Sessions will end at the scheduled time.
Cancellation requests must be made via email.
If the Dietitian needs to reschedule, you will be offered an alternative appointment at no additional cost.
7. Scope of the Service
You will receive individualised nutrition advice based on information provided during your consultation.
You are responsible for implementing the advice provided.
Dietetic services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or emergency medical care. You should consult your GP or appropriate healthcare provider regarding medical concerns.
8. Telehealth Consultations
Telehealth consultations are delivered via secure video conferencing software.
You understand that:
- You and the Dietitian will not be in the same physical location.
- Some elements (e.g. body weight) may be self-reported.
- Technical interruptions may occur.
- Consultations may revert to telephone if required.
- If connection issues prevent adequate assessment, the consultation may be rescheduled.
Reasonable steps are taken to ensure privacy and use secure platforms.
9. Consent to Treatment
By booking a consultation, you confirm that you:
- Consent to receiving dietetic treatment via telehealth where applicable.
- Understand the benefits and potential risks of telehealth consultations.
- Consent to being contacted via email, phone, or text regarding your treatment and appointment reminders.
- Consent to communication with your GP or relevant healthcare professionals where appropriate, with explicit consent obtained where required.
- Consent to the secure storage and handling of your personal data in accordance with GDPR.
Clinical records will be stored securely for eight years in accordance with CORU standards. Records for clients under 18 will be retained until the clientโs 21st birthday.

10. App Monitoring (Where Applicable)
Certain packages may include optional access to a health and wellness app.
If you choose to use this feature:
- You may log meals, symptoms, sleep, bowel patterns, and related data.
- The Dietitian may review entries and provide feedback within agreed timeframes.
- Messaging within the app does not replace scheduled consultations.
11. Fees
Current clinic fees:
- โฌ150 โ Initial assessment (60 minutes)
- โฌ65 โ Follow-up consultation (30 minutes)
A 20% discount is available for holders of a valid ALONE Ireland volunteer identification card.
Many Irish health insurers offer partial reimbursement. Receipts may be used for Med 1 tax relief claims in Ireland.
Fees are subject to change.
12. Communication Policy
Communication between consultations should relate to your dietetic care.
Response times depend on capacity and workload.
In the event of technical issues, alternative platforms or phone consultations may be used. If required, appointments may be rescheduled.
The Dietitian has a duty of care to contact appropriate authorities if information disclosed suggests a risk of harm to yourself or others.
13. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded
Subject to the above, the Dietitianโs total liability shall be limited to the amount of Charges paid by you for the Service.
